St. Nauls, 0-16 Naomh Mhuire 3-06
The minors were defeated in a good game with St Nauls. Despite some good performances from some of our players, St. Nauls point taking was the difference at the end of the game. A good start by St Nauls, with two points on the board, was cancelled out by a goal from Luke McFadden. James Ferry, Tomas Devenney, David Coyle and John Walsh added points, but St Nauls hit a purple patch hitting six points on the trot. Half Time Score; St. Nauls 0-10 Naomh Mhuire 1-4. A second goal from Luke McFadden, and points from David Coyle and Hugh Yank Boyle put Naomh Mhuire back in the game. A goal from a penalty from John Walsh, despite having to take it twice, as the referee was not ready the first time, put us in front with 5 minutes left. St. Nauls were not to beat however and the finished with three points for the one point victory. The u16s faced the long trip to Aodh Ruadh on Monday last. Against the county champions the going was always going to be tough and so it proved. A good first half display saw thw lads compete very well with the fancied home team and only for a very soft goal awarded by the referee when both teams taught a free-kick was awarded left the half-time score 1-05 to 0-02. A strong display of mid-field play and runnung from the home side saw them take control in the 2nd half and our boys were unable to keep the ball up front long enough to take the pressure of the already over-worked defence. Naomh Mhuire kept trying and played the game out to the final whistle. Heads up for the final 2 league games against Four Masters and Kilcar. Best for Naomh Mhuire were Patrick Rodgers, Conor Hugh Boyle and Sean mc Cafferty.

N. Mhuire 0-8 Aodh Ruadh 3-11
The Ballyshannon side made most use of the breeze in the first half as they scored two goals from Martin Larkin and Anthony Boyle towards the end of the first half that saw them go in at half time with a 2-06 to 0-2 lead. The first twenty minutes had seen both teams trade scores with and A. O'Gara 45 the most impressive score for the home side. D. McInery was the from point taker for Aodh Ruadh. The second half saw a much more experienced Aodh Ruadh team absorb the pressure as N. Mhuire fired a number of wides. A number of frees from Brian O'Donnell gave the home team some hope before Pauric McLaughlin fired to the net to end any hope of a comeback as well as a number of scores from corner back Ciaran Keown. Martin Gallagher, Pauric Laughlin and Martin Larkin stood out for Aodh Ruadh while Aidy O'Gara, Francis Gallagher and Lawrence Coyle showed well for the home team. N. Mhuire: S. Greene, C. Devlin, B. Boyle, S. Duffy, S. McBride, L. Coyle (0-1), H. McGeady, H. Martin, M. McFadden, B. O'Donnell (0-3), A. O'Gara (0-1), K. Boyle, F. Gallagher, J. Pigeon, D. Gallagher (0-1). Subs: C. McGowan, R. Drummond, A. Fina (0-1), M. Gallagher, M. Thomas, P. McLaughlin (1-0), D. McInery (0-3), S. Perry, M. Larkin (1-1), A. Boyle (1-1), N. Murray (0-1). Subs: D. Darney (0-1) Super win today Girls. Fighting spirit to make a great comeback in the 2nd half.Ten points down at one stage the Naomh Muire ladies produced a very spirited comeback to win by 5 points in their first home league match against Kilcar in the Banks at noon today. After being well beaten last week, Naomh Muire started of sluggish and gave away two soft early goals although they were enjoying lots of early possession. Kilcar took full advantage and ran into a ten point lead and were looking like they would add to this. Several second half substitutions however brought great life into the Naomh Muire attack and before long they had brought the game back to 6 points. Then with a big effort by all on the field, they scored three great points from play and a goal to draw level before taking complete control against a nifty Kilcar side....and in the end Naomh Muire won well. The ladies side is very young this year and even features several of the Under 14s from last years Donegal winning side. Therefore this will give them confidence....they will only improve as they play more together. Today was a great day for all the team, who never showed any sign of panic and stuck to the task at hand.. Some wise heads mixed with young girls, this team is going in the right direction. Supporters gave the team a great boost to keep them plugging away. Top displays from Moya McGurk, Tara O'Donnell and Mide Ni Bhaoill. Well done to all involved. Well done Ladies. Team: Breda McBride, Orla McDowell, Yvonne Byrne, Donna Kelly, Katie Tracey, Maria McGarvey, Bridín Gallagher, Mide Ní Bhaoill, Márie Curran, Sinéad Sweeney, Aoife Barr, Moya McGurk, Tara O'Donnell, Caroline Sharkey, Erica Hanna, Sarah Barkley. A great victory for Naomh Muire this evening keeps Naomh Muire seniors on top of the division three and keeps their promotion hopes on track in a dramatic game at the Banks this evening.
With a breeze blowing diagonally across the field a big crowd gathered in anticipation of this clash. Making one enforced change from last week's starting fifteen, manager Danny O'Donnell brought in Sean the Point with Pádraig McCafferty moving back into defence. Aodh Rua marshalled by former county player Niall Mc Cready in defence and with the still threatening Brian Roper up front were a handful for the home side. Charlie Doherty watched from the sidelines as points were exchanged in the first half, with the visiting team playing well as expected. Aodh Ruadh started with a slightly breeze in their favour but it was N. Mhuire who came out fastest and had 1-1 on the board after seven mins with Harry Harden finding the back of the net and Ciaran McGinley slotting over from twenty yards. Aodh Ruadh experience did kick in and Roper, David Doherty and Michael Ward firing over scores to help them move to even things up at six points each. Further points Michael Gurn and A. McGurn moved Aodh Ruadh to ten points while two points from Tom McHugh and a Paul Boyle point left the half time score at 1-05 to 0-10. Playing into the bakery end in the second half the home team had some work to do. The second half proved to be a tense affair with both teams trading scores. Doherty added additional good scores while Naomh Muire had Daragh White fire over two 45's as well as a good long range effort. Roper fisted over a point with twelve mins to go to keep Aodh Ruadh with a two point lead. Tom McHugh fired over another score while D. McIntyre scored for Aodh Ruadh. The last ten minutes saw Naomh Muire go all out and it looked as if it would not be their day when Sean Boyle saw his effort come back of the bar. Owen Grant brought N. Muire to within two points but with time running out a tactical change saw John Pigeon take a great ball at full forward and laid it off to the right man in Ciaran 'Moses' McGinley who fired high to the roof of the net. A nail-biting finish and an excellent home victory in the end. A good effort from Aodh Ruadh with David Doherty, James O'Donnell and Michael Ward showing well while Owenie McGarvey, Thomas Duffy and Shaun Gallagher were impressive for N. Muire. Three wins out of three for Naomh Muire and another excellent evening of football. N. Mhuire: S. Gallagher, R.O'Donnell, T. Duffy, D. Gallagher, P. McCafferty (0-1), S. Ferry, S. Gallagher, B. Gillespie, O. McGarvey, H. Harden (1-1, f), O. Grant (0-1), P. 'Yank' Boyle (0-1), S 'Yank' Boyle, T. McHugh (0-2), C. McGinley (1-2, 1f). Subs: D. White (0-3) for S. Ferry, A. O'Gara for S. Boyle, J. Pigeon for O. Grant. Aodh Ruadh: P. Kane, M. Ward, C. Whoriskey, P. O'Reilly, P. McGee, N. McCready, K. Ryan, J. O'Donnell, M. Gurn(0-1), A. McGurn(0-2), D. Doherty(0-4), D.
