Under 10 Blitz on Saturday in the Banks at 11am. We are hosting our friends from Gaoth Dobhair, Naomh Conaill and an Clóchan Liath. We need a few parents to make the usual high standard sandwiches and buns etc as well as serving the teams.......all assistance as always is greatly appreciated. This is our final Blitz at home for the U-10S in 2011 and teams like visiting us in Mullaghderg so lets blow them away with good quality food and outstanding rice crispie cakes!!! Contact Charlie Boyle. Dont forget training on Friday evening at 6 in The senior and reserve teams make the long trip to Ballyshannon this weekend for a crucial league match. Aodh Ruadh are currently on 14 points with a game in hand and will be all out to climb back up the table with a home win. The games go ahead as originally fixed on Sunday at 1:30pm and 3:00pm. In the weekends other games, Downings will be looking for their first away win if they are to move off the bottom of the table whereas Burt will hope to build on their last victory against Buncrana to continue their move up the table. In another important match Naomh Bríd host Urris where a win for the visiting team may see the middle of the league tighting even further. Naomh Bríd have only lost once at home whereas Urris are yet to win on their travels. Elsewhere Naomh Colmcille will hope to bounce back from their championship defeat with a home game against Buncrana. Two wins, two draws and two losses for Buncrana on the road so far this season while they have already beaten Naomh Colmcille by 5 in their home tie of this one. Finally St. Nauls take on Carndonagh in Mountcharles and will be hoping that Buncrana slip up so that they can regain second spot in the league. They face a Carndonagh side who are on a roll following three straight wins, two of those coming away from home while the home victory was one over Aodh Ruadh. So nothing easy for St. Nauls this weekend. An interesting weekend ahead. Good luck to all teams.....except Ballyshannon that is!! :-) Anybody wishing to go on the club trip to Croke Park should contact Gary by text or call on 0863546193 as soon as possible to get your place. The cost of the trip is 5 euro and we need to get definite numbers asap. The trip is open to all players from the under 10 team to the under 16 teams, both boys and girls. The Under 16 team will resume training for the upcoming county final against Aodh Ruadh on Friday evening. Training will begin at 7pm and it is important that all players are at training. Any problems please contact the manager. U-12 training will be held in the Banks this evening (15/08/2011) @ 6pm. Everyone in that age group is asked to attend. Go raibh maith agaibh. Photos from last nights (13/08/2011) championship encounter with Naomh Colmcille are now available in the gallery. Click here to view the photos. Due to poor weather forecast in the afternoon and on advice from the Ferry, the trip to Gabhla Island is off today. We will try to re-arrange for a Sunday in September. Pity...but safety first and little can be done in Gabhla if rain is as expected. In a one-sided Championship match played on a lush green surface in the banks this evening, Naomh Mhuire showed their recent form by totally dominating this Championship match. Seldom if ever has the pitch at Mullaghderg looked so well and the home side made full use of the conditions by playing an open game of attacking football from the off. As well as totalling 1-14, the home side could also afford the luxury of 13 wides. Naomh Colmcille were dissapointing and played with little of the passion shown in the earlier league match here in March. Without their influential play maker Barry O Hagan and with County panellist Thomas McKinley kept scoreless, the visitors offered little and made it a long road home after an emphatic defeat. For the lads its back to league duty for the next few weeks and the focus on the priority prize of promotion. 8 players contributed to the scores tonight and superior fitness and strenghth is obvious...all positive signs... so lets keep this fast train running right through to Division 2. Well Done Naomh Mhuire Seniors...Danny O Donnell and his mentors and a final word of thanks to the parks committee who had the surface looking county standard. Present tonight was former player Shaun Burke, Kincasslagh , home from his work in Malmo, Sweden and enjoying the win. Click here to view photos of the game. Naomh Muire 1.SEAN GALLAGHER 2.
