The fixtures for the under 10's and U-12's can now be viewed on their page in the Bord na nÓg section. As well as these fixtures, there will be many more games organised to keep our U-10's and U12's playing football for as long as possible. There will be games organised in August and September and also in October if the weather allows us. Both of these age-groups have been doing very well in their games demonstrating good team-play in all games played so far. Keep up the good work to all involved. Photos from the under 14 girls league game against Letterkenny Gaels (16/05/11) are now available in the Gallery (Underage section). The girls have made it three wins from three in the league with this comprehensive victory. Well done girls for playing and winning in such wet and windy conditions. Maith sibh. The preliminary round of the Intermediate Championship gets underway this Sunday (22/05/2011). Fanad Gaels face a tough first leg with a trip to Ballyshannon. Also on Sunday there is a local derby with St. Nauls entertaining Naomh Bríd in Mountcharles in what is sure to be another tight encounter. The final game of the preliminary round sees Naomh Colmcille host Cardonagh. With Carndonagh struggling in the league so far, Newton will fancy their chances with home advantage. Naomh Muire will face the winners of this last game. All games throw in at 3pm on Sunday. The full list of Intermediate Championship fixtures is shown below. The Senior Championship also gets underway this weekend with neighbours Dungloe and Gaoth Dobhair both at home in their opening fixtures. Dungloe face a tough test against St. Eunans while Gaoth Dobhair take on Termon in Machaire Gathlan. A full list of all championship fixtures is available under the fixtures drop down menu.
The 1st leg of the Junior championship fixture between Naomh Muire and Red Hughs will now be played away from home in Killygordon this Sunday (time to follow). This fixture was originally fixed to be played in the banks. The ladies are going well in the league so let's get out and support them this Sunday in the Championship.
The Summer schools league begins this Thursday at 4.45 in the banks after it had to be cancelled at short notice last week. This is an important programme for our National School children and is important that it is supported well. We still need more help for an hour every Thursday evening to help the programme run as smoothly as possible. If you are available to set-up pitches and enjoy an hour of football on a Thursday evening please contact Gary on 0863546193. All players should be there for a 4.45 start on Thursday. The teams are on the website and you will be able to follow how your team is doing each week.
The under 14 girls continued their impressive start to the season to make it three wins from three. They played Letterkenny Gaels in the banks on Monday evening and had another comprehensive victory. Well done girls.
Well done to the u12s who travelled to Ballyshannon on Monday evening and won both of their games. Both teams played well in 2 evenly contested games. Two great performances from both teams. On the green team Odhran Rodgers, Daniel ward, Darragh Boyle and Declan Ward played best and on the orange team Declan mc Cready, Mark mc Gee, Conor mc Garvey and Jason Gillespie performed best. Well done lads. Their next game is against Dungloe next Monday evening.
The Naomh Muire Ladies made it three wins out of three in the league today. In the wind and rain on Eamonn Byrne park, Fintra today we carved out a great victory. Playing with the rain in our backs our forwards kicked some great scores in the first half to go in at half time 5-07 to 0-03 up.The second half seen Killybegs start strong and notched up four quick points before we set about our task of winning the game. The defence and midfield started to combine well to get the ball into our forwards in what was now constant wind and rain in our faces. We knocked in 2-03 with Killybegs scoring two more goals in the second half. An all round team performance from all the girls again. It is our team work that is shining through and never give up attitude.
