The under 14s will play Naomh Conaill and Ardara in the under 14 div 1 championship. This year it is being played as a round-robin championship with the top team in the group advancing to the final. The under 16s have received a bye in the first round of their championship.
The minors will face Naomh Conaill in the first round of the minor championship. The first round will be played home and away. In the southern league Naomh Mhuire will face opposition from Four Masters, Kilcar, Naomh Brid, Bundoran and St.Johns (ammalgamation of Killybegs and Naomh Ultan). The league is due to start in March with the championship down for the first week of July
There will be a meeting for all under 14 players on Saturday at 5pm in the Aislann in Ranafast. It is important that all players born in 1998 or 1999 attend this meeting as the under 14 Division 1 league begins in March. There will be training after from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. The annual Bord na nOg presentations will take place on Sunday 29th January @ 4pm in the clubhouse @ the banks. This is an evening where we acknowledge the achievements and efforts of our underage players over the past year from under 8s up to under 18 level. The presentations will be conducted by a member of the Donegal senior football team as well as members of CLG Naomh Mhuire senior team. We look forward to welcoming a large crowd to show support and appreciation for our underage players, the future of the club.
Rith 2012 is a national festival that will take place between 8th and 17th March 2012 as one of the main events of Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish language week). A 1000km course has been laid out for a massive relay-race run, running from morning to night, from Gaoth Dobhair to Inis Mór (Aran Islands, Galway) over 10 days with thousands of people taking part in over 200 towns and villages. A special hand-carved baton has been designed that will carry a hidden message throughout Rith 2012. At the end of the run, the message of support for the Irish language, will be read out as part of the St. Patrick's Day parade in Inis Mór, followed by a party to remember! Naomh Muire GAA Club will this year start off Rith 2012 from the starting point of Bunbeg Crossroads at 9am on March 8th. Over the coming weeks, we will organise this 1km run and hope that as many as possible come along on the morning and take part. Great results all round tonight at the weekly get together in the Clubhouse. A group weight loss of 4 stone and 3 pounds is brilliant. Next week sees the start of exercise after weigh in. This is totally optional and group members can stay on and take part in a short 30 routine. If the evening is good, it will consist of a 15 minute sharp walk and then a 15 minutes indoor exercise session. Pe...ople can do this at their own pace. Over 45 people are now involved and it's an open door policy where you can join at any point. You may wish to shed a few pounds, eat better or get fitter. Feel welcome to come along. Registration on the first night is €10 with €5 weekly. All funds raised goes into Club facility and coaching development. Healthy Living programme - Mullach Dearg Clubhouse - Every Wednesday at 7pm. The Club's Annual Dinner Dance is taking place on Saturday the 21st of January, in Caisleain OIr, Annagry.
Large numbers are expected to attend this celebration of the Club's Activities in 2011. Anyone wishing to purchase a ticket needs to contact a Club Committee Member as soon as possible as the tickets will be limited. The Dinner will commence at 8 O'Clock sharp, and will be followed by a disco until late. Tickets are €30.00 each. Training for under 14s, under 16s and minor players takes place in the Aislann in Ranafast every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7.30pm to 8.30pm and on Saturday evenings from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. It is important that all players in these age groups are in attendance as the under 14 and minor leagues are due to start in March.
Training for under 8s and under 10s resumes this Saturday morning in the sportshall at the Rosses Community School. The under 8s will train from 11am to 12pm with the under 10s training from 12pm to 1pm. Training will be outdoors if the weather is good enough so come prepared for indoor/outdoor session. Naomh Mhuire gear should be worn to training. Parents are urged to share lifts with neighbours/friends etc. to help make it easier on them and to make sure that children that have no lift to training are being catered for and not missing out.
Training for under 8s is for children born in 2004, 2005 and 2006. Training for under 10s is for children born in 2002 and 2003. Training for the under 12s resumes this Tuesday from 7pm to 8pm in the sportshall at the Rosses Community School. All players are asked to be there for 7pm start with Naomh Mhuire gear and good trainers.
